23The forward gear bearing and bearing housing are serviced as an assemblyIf either is worn or damaged, replace the entire assembly24Remove the pinion bearing only if it needs to be replacedBefore attempting removal:
V4Remove bearing retaining screw gearcase
on side of
V6Remove bearing retaining ring on top of the pinion bearing using long-handle needle-nose pliers such as Snap-on No911CP, or equivalent
If the pinion bearing must be replaced, assemble as shown from OMC Universal Pinion Bearing Remover and Installer, PIN 391257:
