22The forward gear bearing and bearing housing are serviced as an assemblyIf either are worn or damaged, replace the entire assembly23Remove the pinion bearing only if it needs to be replacedBefore attempting removal, take out the bearing retainon top side of the pinion bearing, using long-handle ing ring needle-nose pliers such as Snap-on No911CP or equivalentIf the pinion bearing must be replaced, use OIVIC Bearing Remover and Installer, PIN 391257, and assemble it as follows:
