To prevent accidental starting of engine, verify that battery cables are disconnected at batteryControl Cable Identification
1Put the control handle into NEUTRAL positionThe throttle cable casing guidewill retract completely and the shift cable casing guide will go to the midpoint of its travelcable casing guide must retract and the throttle cable casing guide must begin to extend
OJ 2As you move the control handle into FORWARD, the shift
3As you move the control handle into REVERSE, both casing guides must extend4Identify each control cable for proper installationThrottle Cable 1Remove the anchor block cover from starboard lower engine coverRemove cable retainerApply liberal amount of OMC Triple-Guard grease
2Extend throttle cable and lubricate with OMC Tripe-Guard grease
3Verify that the remote control fast idle lever is down in the RUN position4Move the remote control handle from NEUTRAL to the FORWARD detent and then halfway back to NEUTRALThis positions the control for proper throttle cable adjustment
