18Remove thrust washer and collar Remove retainer ring if required It
driveshaft
19If removed, install retaining ring in groove of the driveshaftInstall collar with step of it facing down, and install thrust washer with bow side of it facing up20To assemble bearing to driveshaft, place bearing on the press with lettered side of it facing down Apply light coat of Marine WheeBearing Grease to the bearing and driveshaft pressing surfacesPress bearing onto shaft until bearing makes contact with retaining ring
21 Using retaining ring pliers, install snap ring with sharp edge of it facing away from bearingMake sure the retaining ring is seated in its groove in the driveshaftWear safety glasses and proceed with care to avoid unsnapping the ring from the pliers22Place spacer and seal carrier assembly onto the driveshaftApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to two new O-rings and install on seal carrier23Fill bearing housing cavity with OMC Marine Wheel Bearing Grease24Heat the bearing housing slightly with propane torchPress the driveshaft and bearing assembly into the bearing housing until seated
