Water Pump Servicing20, 25, 30 Disassembly
1Remove gearcase assembly as described in Gearcase Servicing, this section2Remove the six impeller housing screws and washers
3Pull up on the driveshaft and remove the driveshaft with the water pump assembly from the gearcaseRemove the water pump assembly from the driveshaft
rn 4Remove the impeller plate and gasketDiscard the gasket5Scrape all gasket material from the plate and gearcase6Remove the water pump grommet, all O-rings, and the shift rod bushing from the impeller housing7Inspect all components for excessive wearAssembly
rn 1Oil and install the shift rod bushing into the impeller housing
2Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the two impeller housing O-ringsInstall the small, thick shift rod O-ring Place the large O-ring into the impeller housing
