19Remove the upper crankshaft seal and bearing Discard the seal and clean and inspect the bearing20Remove a-ring from crankshaft sleeve and inspectReplace if necessary21Inspect crankshaft sleeve and replace if necessaryTo remove, use OMC Slide Hammer, PIN 432128, and OMC Large Puller Jaws, PIN 432129
22Remove the lower main bearing only if it needs to be replacedUsing external retaining ring pliers, remove the lower bearing retaining ringUsing an appropriate bearing separator, support the bearing, place separator flats against the bearing, and press off the crankshaft
23Remove the rings from the pistons using piston ring expandersDO NOT try to save the ringsInstall complete set of new rings on every powerhead service job
