[]] 1Remove the six impeller housing screws2Pull up on the driveshaft and remove the driveshaft with the water pump assembly from the gearcaseDisassemble the water pump assembly from the driveshaft
3Remove the impeller plate and gasket Discard the gasket4Remove the two propeller shaft bearing housing screws
[] 5Assemble the following components from CIVIC Universal Puller, PIN 378103Remove the propeller shaft bearing housing from the gearcasePIN 307637 Pressing Screw Q) Screws, 114-20 in(obtain locally) PIN 307639 Flat Washers PIN 307638 Handle

6Remove the retaining ring using CIVIC Retaining Ring Pliers, PIN 331045The retaining ring is under extreme pressure during removal and installationWear safety glasses and proceed with care to avoid unsnapping the ring from the pliersAfter the retaining ring is removed far enough from the gearcase to clear the housing, release the tension on the pliers while the retaining ring is still around the propeller shaft7Remove the retainer plate and reverse gear thrust washer from gearcase
