12vaPosition the detent lever in NEUTRALRest the cradle CD on the shift shaft Q), then attach the cradle to the shifter armsFully depress the detent lever to hold the shaft and cradle in place13Place the thrust bearing on the back of the reverse gearSet the thrust washer on top of the thrust bearing
14Insert the gear, bearing, and washer assembly into the bearing housingBe careful not to dislodge any of the loose needle bearings
15Before installing the clutch dog, you must correctly identify which is the propeller shaft endLook for the words "PROP END" or the ONIC part number; both are stamped on the forward lugs, which must face the rear of the propeller shaftOrient the clutch dog properly, align the clutch dog retaining pin hole with the slot in the propeller shaft, and slide the clutch dog onto the splines
