Installation
1Install new base gasketwithout sealerThe gasket has coating which is heat activated and must be assembled dryTo ensure proper sealing, mating surfaces must be clean and free of oil, grease, and foreign matter2Coat the driveshaft splines with CIVIC Moly Lube, leaving top of driveshaft clear
3Using CIVIC Lifting Eye, PIN 396748, slowly lower the powerhead into place
1 complete va powerhead weighs approximately 370
Ibs(161 kg)To avoid instability, be sure hoist has capacity of at least 1000 Ibs(454 kg)
4Apply CIVIC Locquic Primer and CIVIC Gel-Seal lito the threaded portion of the powerhead-to-exhaust-housing screwsInstall all fasteners loosely before torquing any
5Torque the exhaust housing to powerhead screws to 18-20 ftIbs(24-27 Nm)

order to achieve proper sealing and prevent gasket damage, the powerhead mounting screws must be retorqued after engine has reached operating temperature and has been allowed to cool
