slowlyMake no forced assemblies unless pressing operation is called forAll internal components must be perfectly clean and lightly coated with Johnson or Evinrude Outboard Lubricant
INote Use
wrist pin retaining rings, new gaskets, seals, and a-rings during assembly
1Lubricate the center main bearings and split sleeves with Evinrude or Johnson Outboard Lubricant and install them in their original positionsThe split sleeve ring grooves must face away from flywheel when installed2Place bearing retainer plateflat side down, on lower end of crankshaft
3.V4, V6To install new lower main bearing: Oil the end ofthe crankshaftUse aile Crankshaft BearinglSleeve Installer, PIN 338649, and place bearing onto crankshaft with lettered side facing the toolInstall bearing until it seats in the crankshaft
4V4, V6To install new crankshaft sleeve: Oil the end of the crankshaftPlace the sleeve in aile Crankshaft Bearingl Sleeve Installer, PIN 338649, and drive the sleeve onto the crankshaft until the installer contacts the lower main bearing
