Carburetor Mixture Adjustment The slow-speed mixture in this carburetor is controlled by an adjustable needleRefer to Section 1, Specifications, for initial low-speed settingINotel The engine must have exhaust back-pressure to respond correctly to carburetor mixture adjustmentsThe engine must be in the water, at neutral trim angle, with the correct propeller installedThe boat's movement must be unrestrained

1Make reference mark on the carburetor body before you disturb the needle adjustment

2Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperatureRun the engine in forward gear at the specified idle speed for three minutes: If the adjustment is too lean, the engine will sneeze and backfire, go to Step If the adjustment is too rich, the engine will be rough and unsteady, go to Step 4

3.lfthe adjustment is too lean, notice your reference mark and turn the needle 18 revolution counterclockwiseWaiting 15 seconds after each adjustment, repeat this procedure until you reach the highest consistent RPM
