17Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to casing of new upper crankshaft seal, and oil to the seal lips 1 1When starting seal over the crankshaft, be sure the lips fit Note
properly and the seal is square in the bore18Remove keys from the crankshaft and place the seal, casing up, on the crankshaft
19Use OMC Crankshaft Seal Installer, PIN 342661, and the crankshaft pulley nut to press upper seal into placeTurn nut until installer contacts the powerhead
20Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to casing of new lower crankshaft seal, and oil to the lipsPlace the seal, casing up, on the crankshaft
21Use OMC Crankshaft Seal Installer, PIN 342215, and hammer to tap the lower seal into placeTap until installer contacts the powerhead22Install new O-rings on cylinder block dowel pins42223
23Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to both sides of new cylinder head gasketPlace cylinder head and gasket in position on cylinder block, apply OMC Four-Stroke Outboard Break-In Lubricant to cylinder head screws, and torque to 18-20 ftIbs(24-27 Nm) in stages in the sequence shown
