Removal and Disassembly
1Remove the lower engine covers as described in Section 42Remove the powerhead as described in Section 43Remove the gearcase as described in Section 6
4Remove the two lower mount bracket screws and bracketsRemove the housing from the swivel bracket
5Remove the two lower side mounts, lower front mount, and shift rod grommet
rn 6Remove from three tuberetaining steering bracketthe screws Remove bracket pivot rn 7Remove the lower thrust washer from swivel bracket[] 8Loosen the friction adjustment screwLift the pivot tube from the swivel bracket
