1Remove the lower engine covers as described in Powerhead Servicing, this section
2Remove the clip and drive pin from the shift handle
3Remove the screw and wave washer retaining the shift handle
4Remove the clip retaining the shift rod clevis to the shift linkSlide the clevis off link
5Remove the screw retaining the shift detent springs
Remove spri ngs
6Remove the screw and washer retaining the shift shaft assemblyRemove the shaft assembly and bushings
rn 7Inspect components and replace if necessary
