STEPPOWER COIL TEST Ground Test

1Disconnect 4-pin Packard connector between stator and ignition module 2Set peak-reading voltmeter to

3Connect the meter black lead to clean engine groundAlternately connect meter red lead between the two orange stator leadsCrank engine and observe meter at each connection: Any reading indicates power coil is grounded Locate and repair ground, or replace stator assembly
4If no reading is indicated in Step 3, go to Output TestOutput Test

2Attach meter black lead to one orange stator lead Attach meter red lead to the other orange stator lead3Crank engine and observe meter: If meter shows 100 volts or higher, go to STEPCHARGE COIL TEST If meter shows less than 100 volts, check condition of wiring and connectors If wiring and connector condition is good, go to Ohmmeter TestOhmmeter Test
