Assembly[1Place large spring and diaphragm in position in baseAlign diaphragm stem tip with tab in baseInsert plunger in small spring and align plunger slot with stem tip and tab2Push components together and rotate diaphragm 90 to secure components in place rn 3Place reed valve in position between cover and housing]4Attach cover and housing to baseApply O'IC Nut Lock to screws and torque to 35-56 inIbs(4-6 Nm)Lubricate fuel pump base O-ring with O'IC Triple-Guard greaseInstall O-ring on fuel pump base41803
After servicing, check for leaks by connecting fuel hose to motor and squeezing primer bulb until definite resistance is felt in bulb
Function Test Conduct this test with the motor in test tank or on the boatBefore testing, loosen fuel tank gas cap momentarily to release any pressure that may have built upFuel tank must not be more than 30 in (76 em) below fuel pump[] 1Remove carburetor to fuel pump hoseConnect fuel pressure gauge (obtain locally) between the carburetor and fuel pump2Start motor and observe gaugePump pressures should read as follows:
