Installation 1Install new carburetor flange gaskets dry, use no sealer2Attach primer hoses to carburetor fittings3Install carburetors, lock washers, and nutsTighten nuts securely4Install fuel supply hoses using new tie straps5Install carburetor linkageRefer to Synchronization and Linkage Adjustments, Sectionfor adjustment information6Connect drain hose to air silencer base fitting7Install base gasket and air silencer base using new screwsTorque the screws to 24-36 inIbs(3-4 Nm)8Momentarily pressurize fuel system and check for leaks9Install the gasket, air silencer cover, and retaining screwsTorque the screws to 24-36 inIbs(3-4 Nm)10If the slow speed needle adjustment has been disturbed, refer to Carburetor Mixture Adjustment Carburetor Mixture Adjustment
The slow speed ixture in this carburetor is controlled by an adjustable needlef151 1Make reference mark on the carburetor body before you disturb the needle adjustment2Tiller modelsas you face the steering handle, turn the idle speed adjustment knob counterclockwise to complete SLOW speed position3Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperatureRun the engine in gear at idle speed for three minutes If the adjustment is too lean, the engine wi" sneeze and backfire, go to Step Ifthe adjustment is too rich, the engine will be rough and unsteady, go to Step 5f151 4If the adjustment is too lean, notice your reference mark and turn the needle Va revolution counterclockwiseWaiting 15 seconds after each adjustment, repeat this procedure until you reach the highest consistent RPM
