3Start the engine and run at 1000 RPM in gear4After the residual oil is exhausted from the pump, the System Check gauge "NO OIL" light should turn on, and the warning horn should sound for ten seconds If the circuit does not activate within ten minutes, check for battery voltage at purple lead, connector termi nal "0", when engine is running, and check the tachometer circuitRefer to Tachometer Circuit Check, Section If the circuit does not activate within ten minutes and there is battery voltage present at the pump, and the tachometer circuit is okay, check the warning system as described in Section 8, System Check Engine Monitor If battery voltage is present at the pump, the tachometer circuit is okay, and the warning system is okayrepair or replace the pump5Trim end of oil hose and secure it to the pumpDO NOT prime oil hoseRun engine at 1000 RPM to verify "NO OIL" signal disappears If "NO OIL" signal does not disappear, repair or replace the pumpINotel When testing is complete, be sure all oil hose connections
