Routine Inspections 1Check reservoir fluid level at least once per season or every 100 operating hoursSystem capacity is approximately 11.7 flo oz(345 mil: Tilt the motor and engage the trail lock levers Support the engine's weight with suitable hoist Remove the fill plug
OJ Add OMC Power TrimlTilt and Power Steering Fluid or
GM Dexron I Automatic Transmission Fluid, as needed, to bring its level to the bottom of the fill plug threads Install the fill plug and tighten to 45-55 inIbs(5-6 Nm) Disengage the trail lock levers and the hoist Cycle the unit at least complete cycles to purge all air from the systemWhen cycling the unit, hold the trim switch ON an additional to 10 seconds after the unit reaches the end of its travel before activating the switch in the opposite direction2Check the manual release valve with torque wrenchThe valve must be tightened to 45-55 inIbs(5-6 Nm)3Check for external signs of fluid leakageCorrect causes as necessary4Inspect the stern brackets for binding with the swivel bracket in the thrust rod areaRetighten the tilt tube nuts as follows: Tighten the tilt tube nuts to 40-45 ftIbs(54-60 Nm) Loosen one nut 1Js to turn after tightening5Check the battery's state of chargeRefer to Battery Specifications, Electrical Section
