6Move the shift lever until the upper shift rod engages the lower shift rod connectorWhile holding the lower shift rod connector, tighten the upper shift rod connector securely
7Install the port and starboard water intake screens with water intake holes facing rear of gearcaseTighten the two screen retaining screws securely8Install the propeller as follows: Apply OVIC Tripe-Guard grease to entire length of the propeller shaft Install the large thrust bushing onto the propeller shaft with fish line groove facing gearcase Install the propellerPropeller should seat onto the thrust bushing Install the spacerengaging the propeller shaft splines Install the propeller nut and tighten to 120 inIbs(14 Nm)Continue to tighten the nut to align next cotter pin hole Install and secure the cotter pin
9Install and position the trim tab as referenced during disassemblyInstall and tighten the screw to 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)If position is not known, see Trim Tab Adjustment in this section10the shift lever and neutral start switch
