InstallationRemote Models
1Coat both sides of new powerhead base gasket with OMC Gasket Sealing Compound and install it on the exhaust housing
2Coat the driveshaft splines with OMC Moly LubeDO NOT apply lubricant to the end of the driveshaft as lubricant here may prevent seating of driveshaft in crankshaftand tighten the screws only enough to ensure thread engagement
[[]3Attach OMC Lifting Eye, PIN 396748, to the flywheel
Threading the lifting eye screws in too far into the flywheel will damage components mounted to the underside of the flywheel
[] 4Using hoist, carefully lower the powerhead onto the exhaust housingSecure with seven screws coated with OMC Gasket Sealing CompoundTighten the screws to 180-204 in Ibs(20-23 Nm)Remove the lifting eye[] 5Attach shift arm to shift lever shaft and secure with screw and washerTighten the screw to 84-106 inIbs(9-12 Nm)
