Synchronization and Linkage Adjustments

INotel Some preliminary adjustments must be made to ensure that the linkage is in the correct position

1To prevent accidental starting of engine while servicing, twist and
all spark plug leads
2Set the idle stop screw length at 3J4 in(19 mm), measuring from the throttle arm to the idle stop screw bosslock the screw in place
3Set the spark advance rod length at 212 in(63,5 mm), measured at the ball socket center linesUse OIIC Ball Socket Remover, PIN 342226, and OIIC Ball Socket Installer, PIN 342225, to remove and install the ball socket
