4 f4l 6Lightly coat the detent ball and spring with OMC Needle Bearing Assembly GreaseFirst, insert the spring in the housing, then the ball1sl 7V6Insert the detent lever into the housing and push it up next to the detent ballMake sure the ball is resting on the spring Insert screwdriver into the opposite end of the detent lever passageSimultaneously, depress the ball while pushing in on the detent lever until it snaps into the NEUTRAL position1sl 8vaFace the detent lever toward either side of the housingDepress the ball and spring with punch while pushing the detent lever into the housingOnce the detent lever is past the ball, rotate the lever toward the rear of the housing, then move the detent lever to engage NEUTRAL position
