1Assemble as shown from OMC Pinion Bearing Remover and Installer, PIN 391257:
Q) -20 12 inHex Head Screw in0.0Flat Washer CD PIN 326584 Spacer !Ml PIN 391260 Plate and Bearing PIN 326582 Rod
2Secure OMC Pinion Bearing Installer, PI 328828to the rod using -20 1- inhex head screw from OMC Pinion Bearing Remover and Installer, PIN 391257
3Apply OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to the 19 needle bearings and insert them in the bearing case4Place the bearing on the installer tool with the lettered side of the bearing facing the top of the gearcaseUse OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to hold the bearing on the toolIncorrect installation of the pinion bearing in the gearcase drastically reduces the life of the bearingThe bearing is tapered so that when installed correctly, its shape compensates for stresses in the gearcase and allows full needle bearing contactWhenever gearcase is disassembled, the pinion bearing should be checked to ensure that it has been installed with the lettering facing up5Insert the tool with the bearing into the gearcasePress the bearing into the gearcase until the washer on the tool contacts the spacerRemove the toolUsing rag, remove any excess grease from surface of the needle bearingsf21 6Position new a-ring on the pinion bearing retaining screwApply OMC Locquic Primer, then OMC Nut Lock to threads of the screwInstall the screw and tighten to torque of 48-80 inIbs(5-9 Nm)7Install the water intake screen with the tabs facing upInstall its screw and tightenC02378
