STEPCHARGE COIL TEST
Ground Test 1sl 1Disconnect the stator's forward (cylinders 1, 3, 5) and rear (cylinders 2, 4, 6) 2-pin Amphenol connectors from the power pack2Set peak-reading voltmeter to "POS" and "500"1sl 3Alternately, connect voltmeter between the stator's forward connector, terminals "A", "B", and clean engine groundCrank engine and observe meter at each connection Any reading indicates charge coil is grounded Locate and repair ground, or replace stator assembly4Repeat Step using stator's rear 2-pin connector5If no reading is indicated in Steps or 4, go to Output TestOutput Test 1Set peak-reading voltmeter to "POS" and "500"19l 2Attach voltmeter black lead to the stator's forward connector, terminal "A"Attach meter red lead to terminal "B"3Crank engine and observe meter If meter shows 130 volts or higher, go to STEPSENSOR COIL TEST If meter shows less than 130 volts, check cond ition of wiring and connectors If wiring and connector condition is good, go to Ohmmeter Test4Repeat Steps and with meter black lead attached to the stator's rear connector, terminal "A" and meter red lead attached to terminal "B"3-44
