Stator Servicing Removal

1Remove the flywheelRefer to Flywheel Servicing, Page 3-82Disconnect stator yellow and yellowgray leads3Disconnect power coil orange and orangeblack leads4Disconnect charge coil connector{s)
5] 5Remove stator retaining screws Installation 1Remove any varnish around retaining screw holes on both sides of statorThe stator must have metal to metal contact with the crankcase head and its retaining screws2Install the stator and route the leads3Apply OMC Locquic Primer, then OMC Nut Lock, to threads of screws4Tighten all screws to torque of 120-144 inIbs(14-16 Nm)5Attach stator and power coil leadsV4Coat final connectors with OMC Neoprene Dip6Refer to Flywheel Servicing for correct flywheel installation procedure7Route and connect charge coil lead(s)INotel After replacing any major ignition component, verify correct maximum spark advance using the procedure outlined in Section 1
