f131 12Remove the pinion, thrust washers, and thrust bearing from the gearcase13Inspect the upper end of the shift rod for burrsRemove the burrs using 400 grit wet or dry sandpaperSlide the shift rod out of the gearcasef141 14Remove all components from the propeller shaft except the clutch dogInspect the components for excessive wear
