Installation 1Insert the stop button leads and the throttle cable through the lower engine cover grommet2Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the two steering handle bushingsPlace the bushings into the steering bracketAttach the steering handle to the steering bracket1sl 3the the steering handle can be pivoted and maintain any position4Slide the protective sleeve over the stop button leadsf51 5Secure stop button ground lead to bottom ignition coil mounting screwTighten screw to torque of 48-96 inIbs(5,4-10,8 Nm)f71 6Using OMC Insert Tool, PI 322697, install the stop button lead into the plugConnect the 1-pin Amphenol connectorSecure connector with wire retainer'8l7Thread the connector onto the cable housing 1314 in (44 mm) from end of the cable sleeveSecure connector in place with nut8Thread the bracket onto the cable until seatedf21 9Position the connector on the throttle arm Secure the connector to the throttle arm using two washers and cotter pinf1l 10Secure the bracket to the lower engine cover using shoulder screw and spacer11To adjust the throttle cable, refer to Synchronization and Linkage Adjustment, Section 124193
