10 Isl 8Using punch and mallet, drive the steel pin that retains the inner handle from the steering handleINotel Do not remove the inner handle except to replace it
Remove the plastic inner handle from the metal outer handle by driving the outer handle off with mallet and punchInner handle is bonded to the outer handleAfter removing, chip away remnants of inner handle10Remove the throttle cable seal from the inner handle
Inspection 1Inspect the throttle cable for kinks and wearReplace if necessary2Inspect the steering handle components for wear, cracks, or damageReplace parts if necessary3Refer to Ignition System, Section 3, to test stop switchAssembly 1Install the throttle cable seal in inner handler,Ql 2If removed, apply Loctite Depend 300 adhesive to inner handle at areas shownr:J11 3Install the metal outer handle over the plastic inner handle and drive the outer handle into placeIsl 4Secure tab of the inner handle into recess of the outer handle with the steel pin 24282
