Ignition Plate Servicing9.915 Removal 1To avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing, twist and remove all spark plug leads2If equipped, remove the manual starterSee Section 73Remove the flywheelRefer to Flywheel Servicing&
4Loosen the six screws attaching the ignition plate to the retainer plateLift the ignition plate from the powerhead
5Remove the four support plate screws Lift the retainer and support plate from the powerhead
Installation 1Place the retainer plate, then the support plate on the powerheadAlign support plate with four screw holes in powerheadApply OMC Nut Lock to threads of the four support plate screws Install the screws and tighten them to torque of 48-60 inIbs(5-7 Nm)2Apply OMC Moly Lube to the crankcase boss
