12Reach inside the gearcase and remove the pinion and pinion nutRemove any loose needle bearings that might interfere with removal of the forward gear V6Remove any loose needle bearings that might interfere with removal of the forward gear
rm 13Push downrod the shift rod to engage Remove thegearon REVERSE Unthread the shift from the detent leversix
screws, shift rod, and cover assembly from the gearcaseDiscard the cover gasket Remove the two O-rings from inside the cover and discardCOA3560
14Remove the propeller shaft assembly from the gearcase
15Insert small screwdriver under one end of the clutch dog spring and remove it from its groove by unwrapping it from around the clutch dogDiscard the spring16Push the pin out of the clutch dogThe bearing housing assembly will now pullout of the end of the propeller shaft, and the clutch dog will slide off the splines15
