Installation
1Apply Permatex No.2 gasket sealant to inner exhaust housing flange2Install new base gasket on adapterCoat both sides with OMC Gasket Sealing CompoundTo ensure proper sealing, mating surfaces must be clean and free of oil, grease, and foreign matter
3Coat the driveshaft splines with OMC Moly LubeDo not apply lubricant to end of driveshaft
rn 4Using hoist, slowly lower powerhead onto exhaust housing.5Install two steering arm to upper mount screws Use the following procedure to tighten the screws
Torque to 100-105 ftIbs(136-142 Nm)
Wait 20 minutes after initial torque is applied and retorque the upper mount screws to 100-105 ftIbs(136-142 Nm)Do not reverse the screws when retorquing them
6Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the threaded portion of the powerhead to exhaust housing screwsLoosely install all fasteners7Torque the six large screws retaining the powerhead to the exhaust housing to 18-20 ftIbs(24-27 Nm)
