QuikStart Electronic Starting This ignition system incorporates OuikStart TMelectronic starting, which automatically advances ignition timing when engine temperature is less than 105 (41 C) and for approximately seconds each time the engine is started, independent of temperatureOnce OuikStart electronic starting has been canceled by engine temperature, the engine must be turned off before the ignition advance cycle can be repeatedOuikStart electronic starting also incorporates an RPM limit that cancels the ignition advance when the engine speed exceeds approximately 1100 RPMFunctional Test 1Install correct test propeller and start engine in test tankEngine temperature must be above 105 (41 C) before proceedingStop the engineengine linkage adjustments must be correct and idle RPM must be normal before proceedingRefer to Synchronization and Linkage Adjustments, Section 1[}] 2Remove the engine cable bracketDisconnect whiteblack lead between power pack and port temperature switch3Connect timing light to No1 cylinder spark plug leadStart engine and set idle speed at no more than 900 RPM in FORWARD4Timing light must show timing pointer near to BTDC If OuikStartfails to advance the ignition timing, check for proper operation of the power pack and timing wheelDR3739 DR4128
