battery cables from battery before servlcmg electrical systemsFailure to do so could result in injury from ignition sources (sparks) or from contact with moving parts if accidental cranking or starting occurs
Provide sufficient slack at motor end to permit steering and tilting of motor without binding cables[}] 1Remove the cover mounting screw Pry top aft edge of the cover away from the bracket and disengage it from the slot in the engine cover
2Remove screw holding fuel retainer to lower motor coverRemove retainer
3Remove two screws retaining junction box coverRemove the cover4Install the battery cable into the expandable sleeveTape the engine end of the sleeve and battery cables togetherThis allows you to compress the sleeve allowing it to expand
