Off-Season Storage Use the following procedure to properly prepare Johnson and Evinrude outboards for extended periods of non-useThese steps are intended to protect the engine during storage and simplify the preseason servicing procedure1Stabilize the engine's fuel supply with OMC 2+4fuel conditioner, following directions on the bottle
When using flushing attachment, always remove engine's propeller before starting engine to prevent accidental contact with moving propeller
INotel Use flushing attachment if you operate the engine on trailer or dolly to prevent engine or water pump damage
2In shop V6 six-gallon gas tank, prepare an engine "storage mixture" consisting of:
Five gallons of fuel Two quarts of OMC Storage Fogging Oil One pint of Evinrude or Johnson Outboard Lubricant 2112 ozof OMC 2+4 fuel conditioner

3Connect the tank containing the "storage mixture" to the engineLeave the oil supply line connected to the engineRun the engine at approximately 1500 RPM for five minutes to ensure that the entire fuel supply system and the engine's carburetors are full of stabilized fuelINotel DO NOT disconnect fuel line or run equipped engines out of fuelDisconnecting fuel line while engine is running could cause excessive oil consumption and eventual hard starting
