INote Before beginning assembly procedures, all gearcase components must be thoroughly cleaned and in serviceable conditionRefer to Cleaning and Inspection, Page 6-5
1Assemble the following components of OMC Special Tool, PIN 391257, and OMC Pinion Service Kit, PIN 433033
-20 112 inHex Head Screw PIN 334986 Spacer (from PIN 433033) in0.0Flat Washer PI 326582 Rod (from PIN 391257) PIN 326575 Installer (from PIN 391257) -20 1114 inHex Head Screw PI 334987 Guide Plate (from PIN 433033)
2Place the bearing on the installer tool with the lettered side of the bearing facing the toolUse OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to hold the bearing onto the tool
3Insert the tool with the bearing into the gearcaseDrive the bearing in the gearcase until the washer on the tool contacts the spacer
4Remove the toolPosition new seal on the pinion bearing retaining screwApply OMC Nut Lock to threads of the screwInstall the screw and tighten to 48-80 inIbs(5-9 Nm)5Using OMC Forward Bearing Service Kit, PIN 433034, and OMC Drive Handle, PIN 311880, install two new forward gear bearings in the gearcase as follows: Place the gearcase in vertical position on the floorSupport nose of the gearcase with wood
