STEPIGNITION MODULE TEST

1Prevent accidental starting of engine while testing; twist and remove all spark plug leads
2Twist and remove primary lead from ignition coil[] 3Connect primary lead to Stevens Instrument load adapter NoPL-88 red leadConnect adapter black lead to clean engine groundINotel If Stevens Instrument NoPL-88 is not available, you can make an adapter using 10-ohm, 10-watt resistor, Radio Shack No271-132, or equivalent4Set peak-reading voltmeter to "POS" and "500"[] 5Connect meter red lead to adapter red lead, and meter black lead to clean engine ground6Crank engine and observe meter: Meter must show 100 volts or higher If primary lead has good output, test ignition coilRefer to Ignition Coil Tests If primary lead has no output, replace ignition module7Remove load adapter and install ignition coil primary lead
