20-Hour Check
INote Outboard Marine Corporation encourages all Johnson and
Evinrude owners to return their new engines to an authorized dealer for mechanical checkThis check should be performed after approximately 20 operating hoursThe cost of this check should be figured at local dealer labor rates and paid for by the engine ownerThe 20-hour check should include: 1Drain and fill gearcase with recommended lubricantPressure and vacuum test gearcase if signs of water are present2Lubricate steering cable ram with OMC Triple-Guard grease3Check torque on cylinder head screws and spark plugs4Check all linkage adjustments5Check engine mounting hardware for tightness6Lubricate all grease fittings with OMC Triple-Guard grease7Check entire boat and engine fuel system for signs of deterioration, damage, or leaks8Check all engine systems for signs of deterioration or problems
