Gearcase Servicing Removal
1Avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing; twist and remove all spark plug leads
2If equipped, remove the shift rod screw If equipped, pull the retaining pin from the shift leverPush the shift lever toward the powerhead to disengage the shift rod
3Mark the trim tab and gearcase before removing the trim tab so it can be returned to the same positionRemove the trim tab retaining screw and the trim tab from the gearcase4Using 5S inthin-wall socket, remove the countersunk screw with lock washer5Remove the screw from inside the trim tab cavity
