23Apply light coat of outboard lubricant to the corners of the connecting rod and rod capPlace frame on connecting rod using the following procedure: Position frame onto the connecting rod so the contact area of the jaw is centered in the side of the rod Tighten forcing screw until jaws contact connecting rod Slide frame down until adjustment stop contacts the connecting rodThe groove lines on the jaws must be centered on the rodcrankpin diameterINotel The must be followed to assure frame is squarely In position
124124Tighten the forcing screw to torque of 23 inIbs(2,5 Nm)25Loosen both rod cap screws turn1251 26Apply preliminary torque of 40-60 inIbs(5-7 Nm) to
both rod cap screws
27Apply final torque of 30-32 ftIbs(40-43 Nm) in two alternate increments to both rod cap screws28Loosen forcing screw and remove the frameRepeat Steps 22 thru 27 for remaining connecting rods126 129Thoroughly clean and degrease crankcase mating flange
