20-Hour Check Outboard Marine Corporation encourages all Johnson and Evinrude owners to return their new engines to an authorized dealer for mechanical checkThis check should be performed after approximately 20 operating hoursThe cost of this check should be figured at local dealer labor rates and paid for by the engine ownerThe 20-hour check should include1Drain and fill gearcase with recommended lubricantPressure and vacuum test gearcase if signs of water are present2If equipped, check power trim reservoir for proper fluid level3On mechanically steered engines, lubricate cable ram with OMC Triple-Guard grease4Check torque on cylinder head screws and spark plugs5Check all linkage adjustments6Check engine mounting hardware for tightness7Lubricate all grease fittings with OMC Triple-Guard grease8Check entire boat and engine fuel system for signs of deterioration, damage, or leaks9Check all engine systems for signs of deterioration or problems
