Install the steering friction thrust ringbevel side up in the swivel bracketThread the steering friction screw in the swivel bracketTurn the screw until the steering friction pin makes contact with top of the thrust ringDo not tighten the screw10Install new upper and lower seals in the swivel bracket with lips of seals facing away from the bracketOn remote start models, place pivot shaft bushing in the swivel bracket before installing the top seal 133111Slide the upper thrust washer on the pivot shaftSlide the pivot shaft through the swivel bracket1341135112Thoroughly clean splines of the pivot shaft and the lower mount bracketSpray the splines with OMC Locquic PrimerApply OMC Nut Lock evenly to all pivot shaft spline teethPlace the lower thrust washer in the lower mount bracketSlide the lower mount bracket on the splines of the pivot shaft while aligning front of the mount bracket with the steering armInstall the retaining ring on the pivot shaft with sharp edge of ring facing out13Lubricate the swivel bracket through the four lubrication fittings with OMC Triple-Guard grease136114Slide the steering arm seal onto the steering arm with the word "TOP" facing upr::;;l15Position the upper rubber mount, the upper mount washersand the retaining washers on the steering arm with the word "UP" on the mount facing upBe sure to place the ground lead between the mount (starboard side) and the steering armInstall and tighten the mount retaining screws to torque of 24-26 ftIbs(32-35 Nm)137116Place the mount screw bumpers on head ofthe screws
