Discard the gasket
f'8l 1Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to new exhaust relief gasketPosition the gasket and platef'71 2Install the exhaust relief baffleApply OMC HT 400 to threads of the retaining screwsInstall and tighten the screws to 60-84 in Ibs(7-9 Nm)
3Check the condition of the following componentsReplace if
necessary Lower inner exhaust housing seal Exhaust relief grommet, lower engine cover seal Lower crankcase head grommet Shift rod grommet
Apply OM.C Gel-Sealto the top flange of the outer exhaust housmg
5Install the inner exhaust housing into the outer exhaust
housinginner exhaust housing retaining screwsInstall and tighten the screws to 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)Installation
