STEPRUNNING OUTPUT TEST
1Twist and remove primary leads from ignition coils

2Use clockwise twist to install Stevens Instrument NoTS-77 terminal extenders, or equivalent, on ignition coil primary posts3Install primary leads on terminal extendersObserve proper wire routingOrangeblue primary lead must be connected to the No.1 ignition coil

INote Route all tester leads so they do not interfere with moving engine parts[1]
4Connect peak-reading voltmeter red lead to No.1 terminal extenderConnect meter black lead to clean engine ground5Adjust voltmeter to setting listed in following chartStart engine and run it under load at RPM where ignition problem existsMeter must show at least: Models 40RVV, RS, RP; 45,55 40RE, BA 12 Amp 6Repeat Step for No.2 ignition coil: If either cylinder shows less than specified output, test charge coilRefer to STEPCHARGE COIL TEST If charge coil tests good, replace the power pack7Remove terminal extendersInstall ignition coil primary leadsObserve proper wire routingOrangeblue primary lead must be connected to the No.1 ignition coilVoltmeter "NEG," 500 "POS," 500 "POS," 500
