Fuel Pump Servicing
IT] INote This engine uses two fuel pumps to deliver fuel to the
carburetorsOne pump is designed to draw fuel from the tankThe other pump delivers fuel under pressure to the fuel mixing unit and then to the carburetorsSwitching the pumps around will result in poor performance and possible engine damageBefore replacing suspect fuel pump, remove and clean the fuel filters or install new filter elementsAlso, remove the fuel hose from the fuel tank and blow through all passages and hoses with low-pressure compressed air to be sure they are openThis might be the cause of inadequate fuel deliveryIf this procedure does not correct the trouble, test the fuel pumpsTo prevent excessive fuel spillage, disconnect hose connector at motor before disassemblyAfter servicing, check for leaks by connecting fuel hose to motor and squeezing primer bulb until definite resistance is felt in bulb&
