3Place the a-ring Q) in groove in the impeller housing4Lightly coat the exterior of the impeller cup with OMC Gasket Sealing CompoundInstall the cup in the impeller housingf7l 5up6Install the impeller housing cover Q) 1al 7Apply OMC Adhesive sealant to flat side of the impeller housing grommet Install the grommet, flat side downthe water tube grommet
with the inside taper
Inl 8Lightly coat the liner with oilWith counterclockwise
rotation, install the impeller into the liner with slot for impeller cam facing out
Run thin bead of OMC Adhesive sealant in the seal groove, and install the special shaped a-ring seal
Installation
rJl 1Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to both sides of new impeller plate gasket CDInstall the gasket and impeller plate rJl 2Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to new impeller a-ring Slide the a-ring down the driveshaft until it contacts the impeller plater;Ql 3Apply OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to flat area of the driveshaftInstall the drive camThe sharp edge of the cam is the leading edge during driveshaft rotation 4Slide the water pump assembly down the driveshaftAlign impeller slot with the impeller camRotate the driveshaft to engage the impeller cam with the impeller, and slide water pump assembly down over impellerBe sure impeller cam does not fall out of positionVerify that the impeller engages the impeller cam properlySerious powerhead damage will result if impeller cam is displaced5Align the impeller housing with the gearcaseApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to threads of the four impeller screwsInstall the screws and tighten to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9
