Stator Servicing Removal
To avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing, twist and remove all spark plug leads
1Remove the flywheelRefer to Flywheel Service Information, Page 3-82Disconnect stator yellow and yellowgray leads at terminal board
GJ 3Remove stator retaining screws Installation f21 1Remove any varnish around retaining screw holes on both sides of statorThe stator must have metal to metal contact with the crankcase head and its retaining screws2Install the stator and route the leads3Apply OMC Locquic Primer, then OMC Nut Lock, to the retaining screw threads4Tighten all screws to torque of 120-144 inIbs(14-16 Nm)5Attach stator yellow and yellowgray leads to terminal boardCoat final connections with OMC Black Neoprene Dip6Refer to Flywheel Service Information for correct flywheel installation procedure7Route and connect charge coil leadsAfter replacing any major ignition component, verify correct maximum spark advance using procedure outlined in Section 1
