32 19Remove the upper crankshaft seal and bearing Discard the seal and clean and inspect the bearing33 20Remove O-ring from crankshaft sleeve and inspectReplace if necessary34 21 Inspect crankshaft sleeve and replace if necessaryTo remove, use OMC Slide Hammer, PIN 432128, and OMC Large Puller Jaws, PIN 43212922Remove the lower main bearing only if it needs to be replacedUsing external retaining ring pliers, remove the lower bearing retaining ringUsing an appropriate bearing separator, support the bearing, place separator flats against the bearing and press off the crankshaftr;;l 23Remove the rings from the pistons using piston ring expandersDO NOT try to save the ringsInstall complete set of new rings on every powerhead service job1361 24Using tool as drawn on Page 4-8, or OMCRetaining Ring Pliers, PIN 325937, remove the wrist pin retaining ringsDiscard the rings13711381 25The fit between the wrist pin to bosses of the piston is loose on both sidesPush the wrist pin through to free the piston from the connecting rodIf necessary, use OMC Piston Cradle, PIN 326573, and OMC Wrist Pin Pressing Pin, PIN 326356With the piston skirt flush with the cradle, press out the wrist pin using an arbor pressBe careful not to lose any of the 28 needle bearings or the two wrist pin washersIf any of the bearings are worn or lost, replace all the bearings on reassembly
