Disassembly To simplify reassembly, layout the various screws and clamps in the order of their proper location rv theRemove the three screws retaining the crankcasethe seals 1head to powerheadUsing mallet and punch, drive
from the crankcase headDiscard the O-ring and seals
Remove the exhaust cover screwsIf necessary, tap the exhaust cover edge with rawhide malletRemove the inner and outer exhaust covers; carefully separate the pieces
Check the inner exhaust cover for pitting and flatnessIf pitting exists or the cover is warped, discard it and replace with new cover during reassembly
