Ignition Plate Servicing20 thru 30 Removal 1To avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing, twist and remove all spark plug leads&
2If equipped, remove the manual starterSee Section 7
3Remove the flywheelRefer to Flywheel Servicing
4Loosen the screws attaching the ignition plate to the retainer plateLift the ignition plate from the powerhead5Remove the thrust washer from the ignition plate
6Remove the four screws retaining the pilot ring
[]] 7Remove the pilot ring and stepped washer
8Remove the four washers from the crankcase bossesRemove the retainerInstallation
[!Q] 1Place retainer plate on powerheadPlace the washers on the crankcase bosses using OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to stay in position[]] 2Lubricate the top side and underside of stepped washer, with OMC Moly Lube, where it contacts the retainer and pilot ringPosition the stepped washer and pilot ring on the retainer48-60 inIbs(5-7 Nm)
